Proper Operating Procedures for Articulated Boom Lifts

Feb 10, 2026

1. A routine inspection must be conducted prior to each use, covering checks such as the security of structural connections, the absence of leaks in the hydraulic system, and the proper functioning of the electrical system. Should any anomalies be detected, operations must cease immediately; the equipment may only be returned to service after a qualified professional has performed the necessary repairs and certified it as safe.

2. When operating the equipment, control movements-including lifting, lowering, and steering-smoothly to avoid sudden starts or abrupt stops. Before moving the unit, ensure the boom is fully retracted; while in transit, maintain constant situational awareness of the surrounding environment to prevent collisions.

3. During high-altitude operations, personnel must wear safety belts and securely fasten their safety lanyards to the designated anchor points on the equipment. Materials placed on the platform must be properly secured, and tools should ideally be tethered to the worker's person to prevent accidental drops.

4. Outdoor high-altitude operations must be suspended during periods of strong winds. Generally, when wind speeds exceed specified limits, the stability of an articulated boom lift is compromised, and continuing operations under such conditions poses a significant safety hazard.
